Ask the Staff
As you can see, I'm attempting to answer some frequently asked questions in advance and you can help me anticipate what you will want to know upon your arrival in San Diego. Please use the comments links under the posts to ask your question and I will reply as quickly as possible. The comments are open, which means you do not need to be a member of the Blogger.com service to post a comment. Thank you.

Could you give me the URL for the page with participants' e-mail addresses? Thanks
Due to privacy considerations, we do not make that public. However, if you would like to contact the members of your panel, please e-mail ISA and we can help you with that.
I uploaded my paper to the archive today, and I see there is some problem with it. I want to replace it with another file, but don't see any option to delete the original file I uploaded. Could you please tell me how to do that or who to contact? Thanks
You need not delete the original file, just upload your new version, it will overwrite the old one.
I should also note, for the person who inquired about a participants e-mail address, you can search the paper archive by person as well as section and title. So, for example, if you need to contact the chair or discussant of your panel, you can look them up in the online archive. You do not need to login to the archive to search or download papers, only to edit your abstract or upload your own paper.
Since its California, I was wondering what would be the dress code?
Shuttle Service
All the hotels except for the Hilton (the final overflow we just added) will have regular shuttle service to the Town & Country. If you ask at the front desk of the hotel they can give you the schedule. We will also post the shuttle schedule in the convention program.
Dress Code
Yes, it is California, which means the dress code is way casual. Ok, not really, business casual should do nicely. Presenters and chairs of panels may want to dress a bit more formally than casual, but that is always a personal choice. As a professional association ISA expects a certain level of professional decorum, but does not enforce a dress code.
Hi Mike
My colleague just told me that his name disappeared from the last updated program. We were meant to present together a poster on "The Northwest passage in a changing arctic" (SB99 Saturday 10:30 am ; Poster session: International Security Studies V). I had, indeed, to cancel my participation
to the convention. However, I did not cancel Joel Plouffe's participation and he will be presenting the poster, as the first and only author, on his own. How can we make sure that he's back on the program? Many thanks Mike, and I hope to see you next year.
I'll be meeting up with a number of authors for a book I'm editing. We work in different continents, and I'd like to get us together for a working meeting on our book. Is is possible to reserve a small room at the conference centre for a couple of hours?
Rooms
Our convention coordinator, Jeanne White, is the one to contact regarding room availability. At this late date, I would not be optimistic, but if it can be done, Jeanne can take care of it.
One of my panel presenters needs to upload his paper but the system does not recognize his email and asks him to set up a new account. How can I help him submit his paper?
Thanks
for Elisabeth Vallet
Prof. Vallet, I just checked our online program with the latest updates and can confirm that he is still set to present a poster on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the Atlas Foyer. He can check at the Reg Desk, we will have one of our staff members helping to coordinate the poster session.
Joel
